Solar Panels
A warehouse and office unit in Northampton required refurbishment prior to new tenants moving in. The dilapidation report highlighted that the 1800m2 metal roof was failing and the existing solar panels had aged and were no longer efficient.
JDB were tasked with removing and disposing of the existing rooflights, preparing the existing roof for coating, installation of a HD Sharman Plygene gutter lining and then installation of a new solar array of photovoltaic panels.
Prior to works starting all H & S measures were installed. Once operatives had fully prepared the roof with high pressure jet washers the roof laps and joints were sealed prior to the entire roof being coated in the ‘Advantage Metal Roof Coating System’ by Alltimes Coatings. The existing rooflights were replaced, providing an increase in natural light within the warehouse. All capping was replaced on the parapet perimeter of the roof.
The building has been returned to the landlord ready for the new tenants to take occupation, with the peace of mind their unit has a 20 year warranty and a new Tier 1 Suntech pro mini panel solar array with new brackets with inverters tested and certified. Our client is now getting the optimum ROI from efficient generation from the roof.
